What experiences in life helped you grow the most?

Image
What experiences in life helped you grow the most? your question really struck a chord with me because I believe life experiences play an enormous role in shaping who we are. In fact, I'd say they're the building blocks of personal growth and development. Let me share a little story from my own life to illustrate this. Back when I was fresh out of college, I landed my dream job. I was on cloud nine, but little did I know, challenges were lurking around the corner. One particular project tested me in ways I'd never imagined. It was a rollercoaster of successes and failures. The lessons I learned during those ups and downs were far more valuable than any textbook knowledge. The project's tight deadlines taught me time management and resilience, while collaborating with diverse teammates improved my communication skills. These experiences fundamentally changed how I approached my career and life. From my journey, I've learned a few practical tips. First, embrace dis...

Do you believe in fate/destiny?

Image
Do you believe in fate/destiny? Before I was born my mom took the routine pregnancy tests which confirmed that I was normal and perfectly healthy. Since my dad is a Thalessemia minor carrier we specifically got a Thalessemia test done too. The report was negative. I was all ready to come into this world. However, after three months of me being born, I was detected with a genetic disorder - none other than Thalessemia Major. It turned out that the tests were false and had been wrongly done. The doctors pleaded guilty and begged us to not sue them. We didn't. For me this has always been the worst feeling because if I had been detected, they would have aborted me and hence I would have been saved of all this pain. Note: Thalessemia major is a genetic disease in which the patient undergoes blood transfusions every 15 days till he dies. He or she is severely anemic and is prone to Liver chirrosis and Hepatic failure. The current life expectancy of a Thalessemia major patient is 17-22 ye...

Do you enjoy your job?

Image
was talking to a fellow Quoran the other day. He said that if he was rich, he would quit his job immediately, enjoy himself and dedicate his time to reading and researching the things he is passionate about. Then he asked me what I would do if I had enough money to do what ever I want.I thought about all the vast options I would have as this very wealthy person, and then realized:I would continue doing exactly what I am doing now.I love my job.Being a psychotherapist is not just a job for me. It feels more like a calling. It feels as if a piece of the puzzle was placed at its perfect place to complete who I am. It is that rare and sacred feeling: This is it.I used to work in two corporations in high and prestigious positions. I wore fancy suits, traveled, led my own departments, sat in important meetings with important people and discussed important stuff. I had a wonderful salary, bonuses and many other benefits.I was also miserable every step of the way. That wasn’t it....

What was your most difficult phase of life and how did it change you? What is the most difficult thing to

Image
What was your most difficult phase of life and how did it change you? What is the most difficult thing to learn and accept about life? People usually aren't listening. They are either thinking of what they are going to say next or something else entirely. Everyone is insecure about something, it's not just you. You are going to die no matter what. Your kids will experience hardship. The bigger an organization is, the harder it is to make a change even if the need is so obvious. Some people are bad and have bad intentions. Many people (not all) will steal $100 from you today even if it means missing the opportunity to earn $1000 from you next week. You will never be 100% sure about your decision. But always decide because it's better to go back and fix it than to never make it at all. There is ALWAYS someone who makes more money than you, is more fit, has a better-looking spouse, and has an easier life, good things happen to them. Usually more than just one. How you react to...

If you could be someone else for a day, who would you be, and why?

Image
If you could be one person for a day, who would it be? Why would you be that person? Do you know them personally? I would be Renee H. and I would run to my house and marry me and sign a contract that we have to stay together romantically forever. Then I would seal the deal by sleeping with myself all night. Great question!! I would be her because she is one of the best-looking people in the world. no, I don’t know her personally but we have been to the same places If I could be another person for a day I would continue to be me and here's why. In such a frame of mind, you must consider the responsibility of the total package; not just the physical appearance and material possessions but their mental state of mind, the pain, fear, and all the unseen instabilities within. Sidebar. I had a very interesting conversation with a pretty young lady and she shared with me something I never gave much thought about from her point of view. This lovely woman told me about all the weekends she w...

Describe the most ambitious DIY project you've ever taken on.

Image
Describe the most ambitious DIY project you've ever taken on. Two ambitious projects come to mind that I (with my wife and a friend) have taken on. The first is a project where I completely remodeled a living room. This was ambitious because it involved different skill sets, none of which I have any formal training on. This included insulation, drywall, electrical work, finish carpentry, flooring, masonry, and painting. I removed cheap wood paneling, added ceiling lights, and made and installed a new fireplace mantel and slate veneer. My wife and I laid the solid wood flooring. A friend helped lift drywall for the ceiling. In the end, it was successful. For the second ambitious project, I completely replaced the stairs to our basement. This was ambitious since it was a structural change to the house and I wanted to make sure they were safe. The previous stairs must have been designed to older building codes but were coming apart. The treads and risers fit into a routed slot in the ...
