One of the good ways to find out is to assess your psychological state while this man is in your life. The guy might be fine for someone else but he might not be fine for you and vice versa, of course. Do you feel uncomfortable most of the time while in a relationship with him? You might not be able to place a finger on it but do you feel worried most of the time, nervous, bored, neglected or anything other kind of discomfort that by the end you might find draining to you? If yes, he might not be the right guy for you in the long run because those small uncomfortable nuances will get worse with time.







I remember having a boyfriend, who was overall a nice guy, in my early 20s who at some point started talking marriage which, and this was my first sign, terrified me a bit. I couldn’t explain why and just attributed it to cultural differences (I just immigrated from Russia and he was my first American boyfriend). As our relationship progressed, I started finding myself being uncomfortable around him for no apparent reason, I was excessively nervous before our dates and had to psychologically prepare myself before meeting him. At parties, I didn’t want to hang out with him and had more pleasure talking to anyone but him. About 4 months in, I found myself drained of energy because of that relationship. I had to get out of it. It was difficult to end it and I didn’t know why I had to get out at the time. Several years later, I had a clearer perspective on that relationship and could assess what was up. He was a nice guy but had some issues with women in general due to the way his mother treated him and his siblings. He would constantly assess me in terms of how I dress, how I interact with people, my thoughts, my dreams for the future (I was 21 at the time, mind you), he would constantly make some weird remarks regarding cheating, having and raising kids etc. I simply got tired being under a microscope and could not imagine living like this in marriage.Follow for more tips on my Ig page
