Are you a good judge of character?

 

One must be a person of good character to be a judge of character.

One must be observant of others.

One must be familiar with how strong temptations can be.

A good judge of character advocates for great principles or virtues but recognizes the lack of teachers who advocate them, especially fathers missing from the home. He will observe the potential in people who want to improve themselves. They are willing to do difficult things if and when they believe they're doing the right things. He learns how to communicate these virtues in a way that makes them both attractive and acceptable. A good judge of character values those who exhibit great character traits.

I study the bible and do my best to live by it. My introspection in that effort informs my perspective on the achievement of others who claim it as their standard. Similarly, I study other wisdom books to know the standards others claim.

An individual who wants to improve his ability to perceive the mettle of strangers may develop little verbal tests to uncover hidden virtues. You might consider watching the TV show, "What Would You Do" or similar programs as they search for virtuous people.
