What is your favorite form of physical activity and why do you enjoy it?
I enjoy several types of workouts (physical activities) depending on my mood:
Zumba and dance: It’s fun to shed calories and dance off the inches from your waist; eventually developing good heart health.
Kick-boxing: I love how as a result the endorphins kick in and how kick-boxing also makes you feel powerful at the same time. In the end, you feel like you have done a good workout and it also helps in taking out your anger and frustration in the right way.
Restorative yoga & stretching: Practicing this one at home after a long tiring day at work gives you instead relaxation and feeling that one usually gets after a good body massage. Also, helps to improve posture and makes the body flexible.
Walking: Have started to love this one lately because of the level of ease and simplicity it offers, as it can be done anytime, anywhere. Doing a brisk walk while listening to your favorite podcast/ motivational speakers, etc. is a great pass-time idea. Also, now gadgets help you keep a record of your steps to track your progress each day. Despite it being easiest, results are no less than any tougher physical activity for fat loss and improved heart health.
Skipping rope: It makes you feel like you’re a kid once again with lots of energy who loves to play and have fun. It is a great form of workout and doing it motivates one to practice more and become better at it with each passing day.
Running or walking or hiking or cycling. It seemed to sort of have been made out of my fear of possibly becoming miserable and overly chubby once again though. On a more positive note to be able to freely move and breathe and not be in utter pain though seems to be a reminder of how vital movement would be and is. In comparison to my child's teen self who couldn't run and who dreaded exercise because it was painful hopefully they would at least be happy that they ended up not minding exercising so much later on.
On a hilarious note though this post all would be made as I am taking my second day off and remaining extremely sedentary after straining a calf muscle after some morning run and possibly misstepping here and there from that run. Hopefully, I could return to some form of movement come the next day though.
