Think back on your most memorable road trip.
Perhaps the most memorable road trip I’ve ever had was with my best friend and college roommate; she and I were going to one of her relative's homes for the Easter weekend as the rest of her immediate family wouldn’t be able to make it and she’s anxious about driving alone.
Now, of course, two college ladies on an adventure? Of course. We had a variety of music. We had plenty of snacks. I had my sketchbook. We managed to get lost in southern Ohio on our way to a town on the Ohio-West Virginia border and had to find our way with a little guidance from her mom, a little guidance from a map, and a lot of patience. Some of my best sketches were just the Ohio countryside while we were driving along lost.
We had plenty of hilarious conversations, plenty of deep ones, and plenty about an understanding between her religious affiliation and my agnosticism while choosing to educate myself about religions. We had sing-alongs to Queen, Bon Jovi, and The Megas.
We managed to get lost on the way back to Kentucky while we were at it. In the same way, we got lost on the way to her relatives. And rather than panic, we laughed about it because that was honestly funny. By the time we got back to the college, we might have been tired but I have never forgotten that trip.
