What would you tell your teen self? Any advice in general?

What are the top pieces of advice you'd give to your younger self?
* If you take 1/3 of the time you spend playing video games, and put it into school, your life will turn out better.
* Quit bitching about rules, you’ll prefer to live by them voluntarily someday.
* Do not study advertising.
* Do not drop out of computer engineering.
* Not every person in your life will be there forever, treat each vision...

Take care of yourself, because nobody else is ever going to, most likely. Love yourself. Be nice, gentle, kind, and loving toward yourself, to the degree possible. If you err, others are sure to bring it to your attention, but nobody else will necessarily take care of you if you don’t; nobody will make it their priority to take care of you in any way. You can’t even depend on your parents to take good care of you. So take care of yourself, first.
It’s easier to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission. Do what’s right at the moment as it happens, and sort it all out later. If what you’re doing could plausibly be explained to a jury of your peers, just go for it. If not, maybe think twice.
Love everyone to the best of your ability, but with the understanding that they don’t deserve it based on their merits or behavior, and probably never will. Donate energy as you have extra available, and write off the many inevitable losses to karma.
Invest around 10% of your investable cash in the wildest, craziest, most out-there things you can find, things you love and want to succeed despite their impossibility. They mostly won’t win, but the ones that do will make up for the rest. Getting rich(er) because you took a crazy chance on something you believed in against all odds: is priceless.
Be present in every single moment of your life, no matter what. It might suck, it might be horrible, but it’s your life. Show up, participate fully, never give up, stick with it, and see what happens. Don’t take yourself too seriously, but do give it your best shot. Try not to kill yourself, no matter what, and trust that whatever you do, you’ll eventually be killed somehow anyway. Live until you die.
Dear Teen Self,

Sometimes I miss you dearly, but not in the way you might imagine.

I miss you because you were so wealthy in time, so infinitely wealthy. I miss how you could sit on your sofa on a cloudy Sunday afternoon and have no bigger question on your mind than what brand of chips to eat or what other things worth rummaging through awaited you in the fridge and pantry.

I miss how you had no responsibility over anything, no obligation to serve anyone but yourself. I miss how you might have had a semblance of self-awareness but not enough maturity to know what to do with it anyway. I miss you
